Hallway floor tile replacement

The work

Tile problems this service covers

You do not need to know what caused the damage before getting in touch. Describe what you can see, where it is, and whether it has been repaired before.

A visible crack or failing grout can be a local problem or a sign of trouble underneath. The condition of the surrounding tile helps determine the next step.

Plumbing, structural repairs, and mold remediation are not included unless separately arranged. Any work beyond the agreed tile repair is discussed with you first.

  1. 01

    Cracked or broken tiles

Replacement of damaged pieces where the surrounding installation can be kept. The plan depends on the condition underneath and the availability of suitable replacement tile.

  2. 02

    Loose floor or wall tiles

Assessment of tiles that move or lift, followed by resetting or replacement where appropriate. Repeated movement needs more than fresh grout around the edges.

  3. 03

    Damaged grout joints

Repair of cracked, missing, or deteriorated grout where the tile is stable. The repair area and expected color difference are discussed before work starts.

  4. 04

    Shower tile damage

Assessment of damaged shower walls or floors to determine whether the work can stay local or needs a broader repair. Suspected moisture problems are considered before covering the area again.

Repair options

Can it be repaired, or does it need replacing?

The aim is to keep the parts that are sound and address the reason for the damage. The right approach depends on more than the number of broken tiles.

  1. 01

    Grout repair

If the tiles are secure and the problem is limited to the joints, grout repair may be enough. Cracks that keep returning need a closer look before the same repair is repeated.

  2. 02

    Individual tile replacement

One or several damaged tiles may be replaced when the surrounding area is sound and suitable replacement pieces are available. The expected finish is part of that decision.

  3. 03

    A larger repair

Widespread movement, a damaged base, or a failed shower waterproofing system may require opening a larger area. If a small repair is unlikely to hold up, the reasons and alternatives are explained before proceeding.

New grout is not a fix for failed waterproofing. Tile and grout form the visible surface; a shower also depends on the system underneath. For the layer beneath the tile, see shower waterproofing.

What affects repair cost and timing?

A small repair is not priced by tile count alone. The estimate depends on removal, the condition underneath, replacement materials, and the time needed before the area can be used again.

  1. 01

    The area being repaired

Location, access, and the amount of tile or grout to remove affect the work involved.

  2. 02

    What is underneath

Some damage is only visible after tile is removed. If the findings change the scope or cost, the next step is discussed with you first.

  3. 03

    Replacement tile and grout

Spare tiles can simplify the repair. If new material must be sourced, availability and the closest suitable match affect the plan.

  4. 04

    Time before use

Finishing the work and being able to walk on the floor or use the shower are separate milestones. Timing depends on the materials and repair conditions.

  1. 01

    Describe the problem

Call, send a request, or book a free onsite estimate. Include the location, approximate size of the damaged area, and whether you have spare tile. Photos can be sent by email or text.

  2. 02

    Review the repair options

Max and the team assess the visible condition and discuss the proposed scope, matching limitations, and expected timing. Some details may remain uncertain until the damaged tile is removed.

  3. 03

    Complete the agreed work

The surrounding area is protected before removal and repair. If hidden damage changes the plan, the team discusses the options with you before expanding the work.

  4. 04

Check the finish and explain aftercare

The completed area is reviewed and the work area cleaned up. You receive guidance on when the surface can be used and how to care for the repaired section.

Why Plito Tile

Why choose Plito Tile for the repair?

Care for the home around the repair

A small repair still takes place in your home. The team protects nearby surfaces, keeps the work area organized, and cleans up after the work.

Clear options when the plan changes

If removal reveals a bigger issue, you get an explanation of what was found and the available options before additional work is agreed.

  4. 04

    Help finding a workable match

Existing supplier contacts can help with the search for replacement tile. When an exact match is unavailable, the limitations and alternatives are discussed before installation.
